Design & Build
Design is unmistakably LOFREE’s calling card. The Wavy Chips models in Milk Tea and Terrazzo finishes lean into playful retro styling, while the Touch PBT mouse with its OLED screen in Retro Grey and Tofu White feels like a genuine desk centerpiece. The Pudding dual-mode mouse rounds out the range with a clean, minimalist look. Build quality is solid, with PBT surfaces that resist fingerprints and shine, though the compact retro shapes suit smaller hands better; LOFREE even sells an expandable back-cover shell to enlarge the Touch for larger palms.
Performance
These are lifestyle and productivity mice rather than gaming tools, and judged on that basis they perform well. The Touch PBT model offers up to 4000 DPI with an OLED readout and, notably, works on glass surfaces, a rare and welcome touch. Dual-mode and multi-connection support across the lineup, spanning Bluetooth, wired, and USB receiver, makes switching between a laptop and desktop seamless. Five adjustable DPI levels on the Wavy Chips and Pudding models cover everyday precision needs. Tracking is smooth and reliable for browsing, office work, and light creative tasks.
Pros & Cons
- Standout retro design with premium PBT finishes.
- OLED screen and glass-surface tracking on the Touch model.
- Flexible connectivity, including Bluetooth, wired, and USB receiver.
- Adjustable DPI levels suit varied everyday tasks.
- Compact shapes can feel small for large hands.
- Not built for gaming, lacking high-end sensors and polling.
- Premium pricing reflects the design focus.
Alternatives to Consider
Within LOFREE’s own range, the Touch PBT is the feature leader with its OLED and glass tracking, while the Wavy Chips and Pudding models offer the retro look at a friendlier price. Users with larger hands should consider the expandable shell accessory or a fuller ergonomic mouse from another brand. If you need gaming-grade tracking, a dedicated gaming mouse with a high-end sensor and fast polling is the better tool, since LOFREE prioritizes aesthetics and everyday comfort over esports performance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are LOFREE mice good for gaming?
They are designed for productivity and style rather than gaming. For competitive play, a dedicated gaming mouse with a high-end sensor is a better fit.
Does the Touch mouse really work on glass?
Yes. The Touch PBT model is engineered to track on glass surfaces, which most standard mice struggle with.
Are they too small for big hands?
The compact retro shapes suit smaller to medium hands. LOFREE offers an expandable back cover to enlarge the Touch for bigger palms.
Can I use them with both a laptop and desktop?
Yes. The dual-mode and multi-connection support makes switching between devices simple across Bluetooth, wired, and USB receiver.
Verdict
LOFREE mice deliver genuine substance behind their striking looks, and for productivity users who want a desk that feels curated, they are a delight. The Touch PBT model is the pick for feature seekers thanks to its OLED and glass-surface tracking, while the Wavy Chips and Pudding models bring the signature retro style for less. Just know these are lifestyle mice, not gaming weapons, and buy accordingly.
