Design & Build
The 358H tends to appear in laptops that emphasize refinement. The LG gram Pro 16-inch is the poster child, a remarkably thin and light 16-inch machine with an OLED display and a lightweight aluminum-alloy finish that stays feathery despite its size. The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra 14 takes a more business-oriented tack with a durable Jet Fog chassis, Wi-Fi 7, and Windows 11 Pro, while the HIDevolution EVOC build wraps the chip in a 16-inch QHD+ 165Hz gaming-grade shell with Intel Arc B390 graphics. These are premium designs first and foremost, and their fit and finish reflects it.
Performance
The Core Ultra X7 358H delivers strong everyday and light-creative performance with excellent efficiency. Its Copilot+ NPU accelerates on-device AI features, background noise removal, and image tools, while the CPU handles demanding productivity, coding, and photo work without breaking a sweat. Paired with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, as in the LG gram Pro and ASUS ExpertBook Ultra, it feels effortless across heavy tab loads and multiple apps. The HIDevolution EVOC configuration adds discrete-tier Intel Arc B390 graphics for those who want light gaming and GPU-accelerated tasks on top of the chip’s baseline strengths.

Alternatives to Consider
If you want the lightest premium experience with a gorgeous screen, the LG gram Pro 16 OLED is the standout. Business users who value durability and Wi-Fi 7 should consider the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra 14. For those who need real graphics horsepower, an AMD Ryzen AI alternative like the Acer Swift X 14 with RTX 5060, or the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 with Ryzen AI Max+ 395, delivers gaming and creative GPU muscle the standard 358H can’t match on its own.
Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of laptop is the 358H best for?
It excels in thin-and-light productivity and creator laptops where efficiency, AI features, and quiet operation matter more than raw gaming performance. Think premium ultraportables like the LG gram Pro.
Is the Core Ultra X7 358H a Copilot+ PC chip?
Yes. Its integrated NPU meets Copilot+ requirements, enabling on-device AI capabilities such as live captions, image generation assists, and enhanced background effects.
Can a 358H laptop handle gaming?
Light and older titles run fine on integrated graphics, but for serious gaming you’ll want a configuration with discrete graphics, like the HIDevolution EVOC with Intel Arc B390, or a rival RTX-equipped laptop.
How much RAM should I get?
32GB is the sweet spot for this class, giving the efficient chip plenty of headroom for heavy multitasking, creative apps, and future-proofing. Most premium 358H models ship with it standard.
Verdict
The Core Ultra X7 358H is a superb choice for anyone who wants a premium, efficient, AI-ready ultraportable. The LG gram Pro 16 OLED is our top pick for its stunning display and featherweight build, with the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra 14 close behind for business buyers. If graphics performance is essential, step up to a discrete-GPU model instead.
